Cacophony in blue

SIR – Gerard O’donavan (Review, October 30) rightly acknowledg­es the astonishin­g photograph­y of Blue Planet II, but fails to mention the apparently obligatory loud music that accompanie­s such production­s.

Chases were always accompanie­d by a crescendo of drumming and whooshes, drowning out the natural sounds. Why must producers insist on spoiling programmes with this racket? Andrew Blake
