Windsor streets too small for the royal wedding
SIR – Why Windsor for the royal wedding? If Harry and Meghan are to work for the Commonwealth, wouldn’t it be a nice gesture to invite Commonwealth representatives?
This is not just a family wedding. People from round the world would want to fill the streets and cheer the happy couple. The streets of London would be full, and Windsor, although pretty, is far too small. Susie Smith

SIR – St George’s Chapel, Windsor, is beautiful and historic, but its layout makes it less than ideal for a large wedding. The nave is connected to the chancel by a small doorway, so those in the congregation are almost isolated from events in the chancel.
They will see the royal party processing along the aisle before passing through the doorway; after that, they will only hear the service. I have had the privilege of attending Garter services. It is quite tantalising. David Vaudrey

SIR – Why is Meghan Markle described as of mixed race, but Barack Obama (also of mixed race) is always described as America’s first black president? Jackie Circus

SIR – John Culling (Letters, November 29) reports that his Norfolk terrier barked loudly at Ms Markle when she appeared on television. Lest this most intelligent of breeds be thought disloyal, I wish to report that our Norfolk terrier, Daisy, gazed appreciatively at the future princess when she appeared on the news. Mind you, she does the same with Jeanclaude Juncker and Kim Jong-un. Irving Wells
