Kirchner faces arrest for ‘Iranian terror cover-up’
An Argentine judge has ordered the arrest of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, the former president, on charges of treason, accusing her of covering up Iranian involvement in the country’s worst terrorist attack.
The 1994 bombing of a Jewish centre in Buenos Aires killed 85. Previous prosecutor Alberto Nisman was found dead in 2015, the day before he was due to present the findings of an investigation accusing Mrs Kirchner and others of a cover-up. She was due to be sworn in as a senator on Sunday, granting her immunity.
