BUCKINGHAM PALACE December 19th

Mr Jonathan Marsden was received by Her Majesty today upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Director of the Royal Collection and Surveyor of The Queen’s Works of Art when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

Sir Alan Reid was received by Her Majesty upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Keeper of the Privy Purse and Treasurer to The Queen.

Mr Christophe­r Heaton-harris, MP (Vice-chamberlai­n of the Household), was received in audience by The Queen this afternoon and presented an Address from the House of Commons to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General Royal Marines, this afternoon received Major General Robert Magowan upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Commandant General and Major General Charles Stickland upon assuming the appointmen­t, and also upon His Royal Highness retiring as Captain General.

Prince Henry of Wales was present upon His Royal Highness’s appointmen­t as Captain General Royal Marines.

CLARENCE HOUSE December 19th

The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended a Service with the Melkite Greek Catholic community at St Barnabas Church, Pimlico, London SW1, and was received by Dr Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Trustees’ Meeting for The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation.

KENSINGTON PALACE December 19th

Prince Henry of Wales, Founder Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, this morning received Sergeant L. Spencer ahead of his unsupporte­d solo row across the Atlantic in aid of the Endeavour Fund.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE December 19th

The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Associatio­n, this morning opened Woodbridge and District Riding for the Disabled Associatio­n Group Centre, the Bays, Monewden Road, Otley, and was received by Mr Robert Rous (Vice Lord-lieutenant of Suffolk).

Her Royal Highness later visited Spirit Yachts Limited, Ipswich Haven Marina, New Cut East, Ipswich, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Suffolk (Clare, Countess of Euston).

The Princess Royal, President, UK Fashion and Textile Associatio­n, this afternoon visited Stephen Walters and Sons Limited, Sudbury Silk Mills, Cornard Road, Sudbury, and was received by Mr Mark Pendlingto­n (Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk).

Her Royal Highness, Appeal Patron, Woolf Institute Fundraisin­g Appeal, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.
