Allotment holder ‘killed grandmother in shed’
An allotment committee member beat up a grandmother then murdered her to cover his tracks as he feared losing his gardening plot, a court heard.
Rahim Mohammadi, 41, strangled widow Lea Adri-soejoko, 80, with a lawnmower cord in a shed in north London on Feb 27 last year as he knew she could identify him, jurors were told. John Price QC, prosecuting, told the Old Bailey that Mr Mohammadi had “beaten up” Mrs Adri-soejoko and as he pondered what had happened, he feared “he would never again be allowed to return to the allotment”.
Mr Mohammadi, of Hackney, east London, denies murder. The trial continues.
