Lions damage car ‘trapped’ at safari park
A PRIDE of lions charged the car of a safari park visitor while they were “trapped” in the enclosure.
Jaz Reynolds’s Hyundai i30 was damaged when the cats jumped on to the bonnet and roof, leaving a pawshaped dent. Ms Reynolds, 28, a carer from Hereford, and a friend, Abi Tudge, 23, had two children in the back seat at West Midlands Safari Park, in Bewdley, Worcs.
They became trapped in the drive-through lion enclosure for around 50 minutes when rangers closed the gates for safety reasons on Wednesday. Ms Tudge, from Hereford, said: “We were so shaken up and trying to make sure the children were OK.”
A park spokesman said: “There was an experienced member of staff within the enclosure and at no time were guests in any danger.”
