HMS Queen Elizabeth arrives back at its home port of Portsmouth after three and a half weeks of helicopter sea trials, passing Spice Island in Old Portsmouth with a Navy chaplain at the top of the fight deck. A thousand successful deck landings were carried out on the 65,000-ton aircraft carrier in a range of sea and weather conditions in the Atlantic. The UK’S future flagship, built at a cost of £3.1 billion, was accepted into the fleet by the Queen in December.
