Customer may have killed seamstress
A seamstress who was found dead in her home may have been killed by a customer, an inquest heard.
Sarbjit Kaur, 38, who ran her own sari business, was discovered by her husband, Gurpreet Singh, 42, in their home in Wolverhampton on Feb 16. Her body was in the doorway of a workroom in the converted garage where she worked.
An inquest at Black Country coroner’s court stated Mrs Kaur died as a result of asphyxiation.
After the hearing, police said it was possible that she had been murdered by one of her own customers.
They said the mother-oftwo had been assaulted and may have been dead for hours before she was found.
Detectives are still looking into whether she was the victim of a botched burglary after jewellery and cash was found missing.
The inquest was adjourned for two weeks.
