BUCKINGHAM PALACE March 20th

The Queen, Patron, Protector and Supporter, this morning visited the Royal Academy of Arts, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa) and the President (Mr Christophe­r Le Brun).

Her Majesty, escorted by the President, viewed the “Charles I: King and Collector” Exhibition and proceeded to the Royal Academy of Arts, Burlington Gardens.

The Queen visited the West, Central and East Galleries and met those involved in the design and constructi­on of the Burlington Gardens building, before unveiling the first painting to be installed in the new spaces.

The Duke of Cambridge, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investitur­e at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received Mr James Brett (Founder, Plant for Peace).

His Royal Highness, President, the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty, received Dame Helen Ghosh upon relinquish­ing her appointmen­t as Director General and Mrs Hilary Mcgrady upon assuming the appointmen­t.

The Prince of Wales received the Rt Hon Nicholas Hurd, MP (Minister of State for Policing and the Fire Service).

His Royal Highness later held a Meeting with representa­tives from the Duchy of Lancaster.

The Duke of York, Fellow, the Royal Society, this evening presented the Royal Society Innovation Awards at a Reception for Labs to Riches, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, this morning held Meetings.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today attended Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon attended the UK Armed Forces Sports Awards Lunch at the Royal Air Force Club, 128 Piccadilly, London W1.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon visited Bells Piece, Leonard Cheshire Disability, Hale Road, Farnham, and was received by Mr Christophe­r Biddell (Vice Lord-lieutenant of Surrey).

Her Royal Highness subsequent­ly attended the Farnham Festival at Farnham Maltings, 2 Bridge Square, Farnham.

The Princess Royal this morning attended the Twenty Fifth Anniversar­y Commemorat­ion Service of the Warrington Bombing, Market Gate, Warrington, and later attended a Reception at the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Centre, Peace Drive, Great Sankey, Warrington, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Cheshire (Mr David Briggs).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Lattitude Global Volunteeri­ng, this afternoon visited Queen Alexandra College, 49 Court Oak Road, Harborne, Birmingham, to mark the Twentieth Anniversar­y of the College and the Twenty Fifth Anniversar­y of Lattitude Global Volunteeri­ng in Ecuador and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of West Midlands (Mr John Crabtree).

ST JAMES’S PALACE March 20th

The Duke of Kent, Patron, London Philharmon­ic Orchestra, this evening held a Dinner at Windsor Castle.
