Spitfire veteran reaches for the skies for RAF centenary

Squadron Leader Allan Scott DFM, 97, returned to Biggin Hill yesterday to mark the centenary of the RAF, performing a fly-past in the rear of a two-seater Mark IX Spitfire alongside a second Spitfire and a Hurricane. Sqn Ldr Scott, who flew Spitfires with 124 Squadron from the Kent airfield in 1941, is now an ambassador for the RAF Benevolent Fund
