Animal charities absent from millennials’ top 10
MILLENNIALS are not giving money to animal charities and are favouring online funding efforts and homelessness organisations instead, figures show.
Research by Loot, a digital current account provider, shows no animal charities in young people’s top 10, and that 16 per cent of donations were processed by Just Giving, the online fundraising platform.
Charities in the top 10 included Cancer Research (with 15 per cent of donations), the British Heart Foundation (13 per cent) and Crisis UK (5 per cent).
A spokesman said the data “uncovered the causes that the young cared about most”, adding: “The remainder of the top 10 are primarily focused on helping the disadvantaged, including the vulnerable, elderly and those with a severe disability. Noticeable absences included any environmental or animal welfare charities.”
