President chides lawyer over hush money admission
DONALD TRUMP criticised Rudy Giuliani, his lawyer, after the former New York mayor indicated the president had changed his position on whether he knew about a $130,000 (£95,700) payment to Stormy Daniels, a former porn star. Mr Trump said he did not know hush money was paid to Ms Daniels by Michael Cohen, his personal lawyer. However, Mr Giuliani said Mr Trump personally reimbursed Mr Cohen.
Mr Trump said: “We’re not changing any stories. Rudy’s a great guy but he just started a day ago.” He said Mr Giuliani, 73, was still “learning the subject matter”. Mr Giuliani later claimed he was only describing “my understanding of these matters”.
