EX-CIA employee named as data leak suspect
A former CIA engineer has been identified as the suspect behind the largest leak of classified documents in the intelligence service’s history.
Joshua Schulte, 29, is accused of handing over thousands of stolen files to the anti-secrecy website Wikileaks for its “Vault 7” cache of documents, describing the spy agency’s cyberwarfare and surveillance capabilities.
Mr Schulte spent six years at the CIA designing malware to break into terrorism suspects’ computers.
