Pub swears off all talk of the big day

A pub has banned any mention of the royal wedding tomorrow – with a “swear” box set up for anyone who talks about it.

The Alexandra Hotel in Derby reintroduced the idea after fines raised £400 at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011.

Landlady Anna Dysonedge said regulars were “sick of hearing” about the wedding. Posters urged patrons to “talk about beer or the weather instead”.
