RSPCA officer gives kiss of life to drowning deer
An RSPCA officer revived a deer after it fell into a family swimming pool.
Insp Alan Browning went to the rescue after the young male roe was spotted frantically struggling to keep its head above water in a back garden pool in Hedge End, near Southampton.
Mr Browning, 58, pulled the lifeless animal out with a pole and performed CPR on it. It eventually revived and ran off. Mr Browning said: “To save a life and watch it recover before my very eyes having using untried techniques was magical.”
An RSPCA spokesman said: “Alan is an amazing inspector, a true hero, who dedicates his life to rescuing animals.
