Jack, in which she plays Anne Lister, a 19th century landowner known as “the first modern lesbian”. Lister gained her nickname for wearing men’s clothes and enjoying hunting and shooting. A street in Huddersfield was given a Victorian makeover as scenes were shot for the eight-part BBC drama.
