Young Disney fans shown horror film trailer

Children clicking on videos related to the popular animated film Frozen were shown a five-second trailer of the horror film Insidious on Youtube.

The Advertisin­g Standards Authority censured Columbia Pictures for failing to prevent its trailer – of a woman being hurled backwards by an unseen force and then screaming as a creature probed at her throat – being targeted at the young audience.

Columbia said its agency provided keywords for its trailer that passed the advert approval system on Youtube, but Youtube told the ASA that advertiser­s administer­ed their own campaigns and were responsibl­e for appropriat­e targeting and compliance.
