Mission accomplished
SIR – It is the 100th anniversary of the RAF. Given the change in mission profile and the use of airborne equipment by all the military, alongside the need to reduce costs, I wonder if we should now disband the Royal Air Force and reabsorb its function into the Army and Navy.
This would enable greater investment in front-line forces. The RAF did a tremendous job for us, but we shouldn’t continue with it just because we love it. David Goodwin
