One dead, 20 injured in South African air crash

A vintage charter plane crashed in South Africa yesterday, killing one person and injuring 20 others.

Images from the site in the Wonderboom area of Pretoria showed the plane broken into several pieces as paramedics helped survivors out of the aircraft while firemen tackled the smoking wreckage.

The 1954 Convair plane was due to be flown to the Aviodrome air museum, near the central Dutch city of Lelystad, after being renovated.
