Mystery ‘spy’ caught in the England camp

Russian police yesterday arrested a man suspected of spying for Croatia after he was seen taking photographs of England in training.

The man, a telecoms employee, was led away by officers to a local police station and asked to delete pictures he had taken at the England base. He was later released.

It was later confirmed he was a phone company employee, hired to carry out routine repair work.

There was no evidence he had any link to the Croatian football team.
