Greece wrangles with Russia over Macedonia
Russia and Greece were poised yesterday to expel two of each other’s diplomats in a rare dispute prompted by interference from Moscow in Macedonia’s bid to join Nato.
The Greeks told Moscow last week they would expel diplomats for illegal
activities connected to rallies against a deal with Macedonia. Russia said it would respond in kind.
The deal would see the formation of the Northern Republic of Macedonia, unlocking an invitation to join Nato.
