Private tutor caught exposing himself to his pupil by father

A PRIVATE tutor was caught exposing himself to a young pupil after a suspicious father recorded him on his mobile phone, a court heard.

John Chapman, 65, had revealed his genitals to three boys in one day, Reading Crown Court heard. He pulled down his trousers on the pretence he wanted to show the boys scars from burns he had received when he fell into an open fire as a toddler, a judge heard.

When another pupil sat down for his extra tuition in his own family home, he could see the tutor’s penis.

The boy’s father, sitting outside the lesson, propped up a mobile phone and was streaming the footage to his smartwatch when he saw Chapman exposed.

He called police, who arrested Chapman in Wantage, Oxon. As he opened the door, he said: “If it’s about Sunday, I know what it is about.”

Chapman admitted two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and one of sexual communication with a child. The judge said Chapman had already served four-and-a-half months on remand, the equivalent to a nine month sentence, and added that nothing more could be imposed.
