Tour de force

A unique Aston Martin that clocked 198mph at Le Mans in 1963 is expected to fetch £18.8 million when it goes under the hammer at RM Sotheby’s in California next month. The DP215 Grand Touring Competition Prototype reached its record speed down the famous Mulsanne Straight during the 24-hour race, only for its gear box to fail hours later.
