Trump and Putin

SIR – I wonder what answer President Trump expected to the question about Vladimir Putin’s meddling in the American election. Mr Putin was unlikely to break down and admit “it’s a fair cop, guilty as charged”, so how can his answer be used as a basis for Mr Trump’s judgment? He might as well have tossed a coin.
