University ditches plan for 8am start to lectures
A university has reversed plans to start lectures at 8am following an outcry from students.
Four modules in the business and law departments at Durham University have now been rearranged.
Many students suggested the earlier lectures reflected timetabling issues caused by controversial expansion plans to increase enrolment.
Students said they were worried about the impact on those who live outside Durham. Students’ Union president George Walker said the reversal was “great news – not just because students don’t have to get up. as early”.
