SIR – I agree with Debora Robertson (Features, August 16) about the decline of food in France.
There was a time when one highlight of a trip to France would be steak frites with salad. What has happened? The steak is now hard and dry, the frites are reconstituted potato extrusions and the salad comes out of a bag. Quelle horreur.
