Journey’s end

Endurance swimmer Lewis Pugh has called on Britain to lead the way in protecting the oceans after completing his 49-day swim along the Channel from Land’s End to Dover. The 348-mile swim was to raise awareness of plastic pollution in the seas. Arriving in Dover yesterday, Mr Pugh said he saw only “a few fish” on his journey.
