Gunshot victim’s body found in cemetery

Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man was found with gunshot wounds in a London cemetery.

Scotland Yard said the 22-year-old was found in Tottenham Cemetery early yesterday.

Armed police, officers from the National Police Air Service and paramedics attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are yet to make an arrest or establish a motive for the attack.

Officers were called to the murder scene shortly before 8am.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed, but formal identification and a post mortem examination are yet to take place.
