‘Novichok’ alert in Salisbury restaurant

-

Police closed streets in Salisbury and an Italian restaurant last night as a “precautionary measure” after two people were taken ill.

Officers were called by the ambulance service at about 6.45pm after a “medical incident” involving a man and a woman – one of whom is said to be Russian – at Prezzo.

“The ambulance crew took the decision that the symptoms seemed consistent with Novichok poisoning,” a source said. Prezzo is 300 yards from another Italian restaurant in Salisbury – Zizzi – where Sergei and Yulia Skripal dined on the day they were poisoned by Novichok.
