Mariachi gunmen kill five in Mexico City
Men dressed as mariachi musicians shot dead five people and wounded eight more as crowds gathered for Mexico’s Independence Day celebrations.
The Mexico City prosecutors’ office said at least one foreigner was among those wounded in Friday night’s attack in Garibaldi Plaza, which local media said was staged by three gunmen.
La Silla Rota news outlet circulated surveillance video of the alleged assailants wearing traditional costume as they fled on motorcycles.
