Two teenagers held for suspected far-right plot

Two 15-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of planning to carry out a far-right terror attack.

The teenagers were arrested at their homes in Ramsgate by officers from the South East Counter Terrorism Unit. It is understood that at least one of the boys was known to the police for his extremist views. Last night his father insisted that the arrest was a “mistake” and his son had been detained over jokes he had made online.

It was not clear what the target of the alleged plot was, but security sources said it was a “significant investigation”.
