Davidson: I still want to be Scots first minister

Ruth Davidson last night said she was still interested in becoming first minister in Scotland after revealing how her mental health battles ruled her out of ever becoming being prime minister.

The Scottish Tory leader said she did not want to work 450 miles away from her family in Edinburgh, as they were “more important to me than personal ambition”.

She said Bute House, the First Minister’s official residence in the Scottish capital, was only three-and-ahalf miles away from her home.
