Zara puts three-month-old Lena to work in television advert for £1,500 pram

WHEN the Princess Royal famously eschewed a royal title for her children, she set them off with a can-do attitude that would see them free to forge their own way in the world.

That work ethic has been extended to the new generation, it appears, as three-month-old Lena Tindall appears in her first advert.

Zara Tindall, who as a professional sportswoman is free to have sponsorship deals, has become an “ambassador” for icandy, a £1,500 pram. It has a special tie-in with Land Rover, for whom she is also ambassador.

A video advert and accompanying photographs show Mrs Tindall joined for the promotion by baby Lena, daughter of rugby player Mike Tindall and younger sister of Mia.

The tiny model, wearing a simple baby grow, does not show her face on camera, but is seen being lifted from the pram and cradled by her mother.

A spokesman for the brand confirmed the baby is Lena.

Mrs Tindall, the Queen’s granddaughter, is now described as an “icandy parent”.

In a voiceover to the one-and-a-halfminute video, Mrs Tindall discloses how she was eager to return to work after having her daughter, and is filmed in the stables and riding through fields.

“I was keen to get back riding from a break, because I’d obviously been off much longer this time,” she says on film.

“I do like my family being at events and the icandy for Land Rover is perfect for our lifestyle.”

A press release issued by the company further quotes her as saying: “I always use the best equipment in competing and it definitely applies for the children and having the best for the baby.

“The icandy for Land Rover works incredibly well for us and fits into our lifestyle across all-terrains, it is light and accessible.

“It is a fantastic addition for our family. It is so important to me and the family

to be outside. My job day-in-day-out is solely being outside, so for me having the family there makes it all the more doable with my icandy for Land Rover pushchair.”

She has previously said of working life: “I’m very lucky that both my parents decided to not use the title and we grew up and did all the things that gave us the opportunity to do.”

Lena Elizabeth Tindall, was born at Stroud Maternity Unit in Gloucestershire on Monday, June 18, weighing 9lb 3oz.

Her older sister Mia has become a firm favourite with royal-watchers for her lively appearances, captured by photographers at her mother’s riding events.
