Storm Bronagh blows in as Ali bows out
STORM Bronagh could blow lorries and motorbikes off the road with winds of up to 65mph, the Met Office has warned.
The warning of a danger to life and damage to buildings comes a day after two people were killed during Storm Ali.
A Swiss holidaymaker was killed when the caravan she was in was blown down a rocky incline in Co Galway, while a man in Co Armagh died after he was hit by a tree. Storm Bronagh was expected to develop across parts of Wales and south-west England yesterday evening, before spreading further eastwards across England.
Heavy rain was expected throughout yesterday, with a yellow weather warning in place for rain in Wales and parts of north-west England, and a yellow wind warning in place for much of England and parts of Wales later on.
The storm was expected to bring gale-force winds through the evening and overnight into today.
