OAP ‘hopeful of sex’ robbed of jewellery

-

 A pensioner “hopeful of sex” with a younger woman was drugged and robbed of his £2,000 jewellery collection, a court heard.

Laura Norton, 34, was said to have taken advantage of Cornelius White at his home in Chatham, Kent, in June last year. Mr White, who was 69 at the time, fell asleep in his armchair within half an hour of being given a drink by Ms Norton.

It is alleged Ms Norton sneaked the safe key from Mr White’s trouser pocket and then stole the jewellery.

Ms Norton denies administering a “stupefying and overpowering” drug to commit theft and denies stealing jewellery belonging to Mr White.

Vivian Walters, prosecuting, told Maidstone Crown Court that Ms Norton accepts putting a sedative in his tea, but only to “escape unwanted sexual advances”. The trial continues.
