Leonard Cohen’s son to finish star’s final album

-

Leonard Cohen’s son is to release a posthumous collection of his father’s unfinished songs.

Cohen, who died in 2016, aged 82, had begun working on a new album with his son Adam, a music producer.

Mr Cohen said he was working to complete the album, and hoped to release it next year.

“I was tasked with finishing a few more songs of his that we started together on the last album, so his voice is literally still in my life,” he told CBC.

“Unlike the gravity and the nature of [his last album] You Want it Darker, these have a sort of more mythoromantic tone that resembles his older work; something more romantic.”
