Stalker found guilty of faking own rape and kidnapping
A STALKER boasted online about concocting a “super duper defence” before claiming in court that she had been kidnapped and raped by an MI5 agent.
Jessica Nordquist, 26, was warned she faced jail yesterday after being convicted of carrying out a prolonged and malicious campaign against her exboyfriend, Mark Weeks, who she met through work at a London advertising agency.
When the couple’s three-month relationship ended last year, Nordquist bombarded him with threatening emails from fake accounts, bought a fake pregnancy belly to try to win him back and accused him of rape.
She was arrested in January but within days made light of the police investigation and her suspension from work in a stream of social media posts.
She boasted about being on paid leave, enjoying lunch at the Ivy Market Grill and spending time at a trendy private members club after life handed her “an unexpected vacation”.
Nordquist, from Alaska, was charged in February and was bailed to appear in court in May.
But in April, she faked her own kidnap, sending friends, colleagues and Mr Weeks photographs of herself naked, bound and gagged, purportedly from a crime gang.
She told the jury she had been snatched by a real-life “James Bond” who had secretly taken photographs of her having sex with Mr Weeks, raped her and taken her to Scotland.
She was found guilty of two counts of stalking, two of sending malicious communications and one of perverting the course of justice. Judge Paul Southern adjourned sentencing, noting that during the period the offences were being committed she had been admitted to a psychiatric facility.
