Men re-arrested over killing of teacher

Two men have been taken into custody for questioning after being re-arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly teacher.

Thames Valley Police launched a double murder inquiry in January into the deaths of 69-year-old Peter Farquhar and his 83-year-old neighbour, Ann Moore-martin.

The pensioners lived three houses apart in the village of Maids Moreton, Bucks, and died within a year and a half of each other. Mr Farquhar’s lodger, Ben Field, 27, a church warden, and friend Martyn Smith, 31, were named locally at the time of the arrest.

They remain on bail in connection with Ms Moore-martin’s death.
