Will your inheritance pass on passwords?
♦ A quarter of people plan to hand over their social media accounts to loved ones after they die, a survey has found.
Research carried out by Yougov showed 26 per cent of people wanted the content of their accounts passed on when they die. As well as this two thirds of respondents said that they wanted their accounts taken offline after they pass.
The research comes amid the rise of “digital inheritances” where people are having to decide whether they hand over passwords to email and social media accounts after their death.
