Madonna on demand

SIR – I was sorry to hear that there had been difficulties buying religious Christmas stamps (Letters, November 7). May I reassure readers that religious-themed stamps have been supplied to the Post Office and should be available at all post offices this week.

Royal Mail’s Christmas stamps feature secular and religious imagery in alternate years. However, to provide choice for customers, first and second-class Madonna and Child stamps are always available in the years when the main set is secular. David Gold
