Christmas comes early with calendar blunder

Parents have been left furious after an advent calendar sold in John Lewis made it appear as if Christmas was coming a week early.

Customers complained after opening up the December 2 window on their calendar yesterday to be told that Christmas was coming in 16 days’ time, December 18.

John Lewis offered full refunds and said: “We’re so sorry for the disappointment when customers opened up this advent calendar.

“The supplier is working closely with us and other retailers to put this right as quickly as possible.”
