Eton sports centre ‘harms countryside’
Eton’s new sports centre could be refused planning permission after a council’s officers said it would damage the green belt.
Planning officers in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead said trees which form a key part of Eton’s character and appearance and provide a habitat for badgers and bats are at risk of being removed.
Eton has said its current facilities are of low quality and outdated.
The application will be discussed at Windsor Guildhall on Wednesday by the Windsor Urban Development Management Panel.
