‘Predatory’ Christmas song is taken off radio

-

A US radio station has banned Baby, It’s Cold Outside after complaints about the predatory nature of its lyrics.

Star 102FM, based in Cleveland, Ohio, said it was removing the 1949 Christmas favourite, which features the line “I ought to say no, no, no, sir”, from its playlist.

Glenn Anderson, a presenter, wrote: “In a world where Metoo has finally given women the voice they deserve, the song has no place.” However, a poll of 6,000 listeners showed only six per cent were in favour of the decision.
