Nigeria ousts Unicef for ‘training jihadist spies’
Nigeria’s military yesterday suspended Unicef from operating in the country’s ravaged north-east over claims it was training “spies” to support Boko Haram jihadists.
The army said that the United Nations’ children’s agency had on Dec 12 and 13 held workshops in the city of Maiduguri, training people for “clandestine” activities that are “sabotaging” the country’s counterterrorism efforts.
