Six-day-old baby is youngest Ebola survivor

A “miracle baby” has become the youngest person to survive Ebola, according to the Democratic Republic of Congo’s health ministry.

The girl was taken to hospital for Ebola treatment just six days after she was born. Her mother was diagnosed with Ebola and died in childbirth.

This year the DR Congo has suffered the world’s second-worst outbreak of the Ebola virus, with a total of 298 recorded deaths.
