Human heart on plane forces pilot to turn back

A US passenger plane was forced to turn back in mid-air because a human heart had been left on board.

The Southwest Airlines flight from Seattle to Dallas was in the air for three hours before the organ was found.

The pilot informed passengers that the flight had to return to preserve the heart for a valve transplant.

The plane landed just in time for the organ to be stored safely.
