Not so merry

Struggling retailers had more bad news over the weekend as wet weather kept shoppers at home. Footfall for high streets, retail parks and shopping centres was down 4.3pc on the same weekend last year, according to retail intelligence firm Springboard, which said this should have been the peak retail trading weekend in the run-up to Christmas.
