Man arrested after boy, 11, dies in hit-and-run
An 11-year-old boy killed in a hit-andrun collision on Saturday was an “intelligent, loving and caring kid”, his family has said.
Taylor Schofield was treated by paramedics at the scene of the incident in Beswick, Manchester, but died of his injuries in hospital.
A grey Volkswagen Golf, believed to have been involved in the collision in Albert Street shortly after 6.10pm, left the scene and was found abandoned a short distance away.
A 31-year-old man later attended a police station and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The suspect remains in custody for questioning, said Greater Manchester Police.
