Paris bak­ery ex­plo­sion death toll rises to four

The Paris fire depart­ment said res­cuers yes­ter­day found a woman’s body un­der the rub­ble of a bak­ery that was blown apart by an ex­plo­sion, be­lieved to have been caused by a gas leak, bring­ing the death toll to four.

The blast on Satur­day morn­ing in the Rue de Tre­vise in north-cen­tral Paris also in­jured dozens of peo­ple.

Eric Moulin, a fire depart­ment spokesman, told re­porters yes­ter­day that nine peo­ple were still in crit­i­cal con­di­tion from the blast that dev­as­tated a street and 45 oth­ers were listed as in­jured.
