Sir Andy’s court
SIR – Sir Andy Murray, who has announced his retirement (report, January 12), deserves a special honour for the pleasure he has given tennis fans and his contribution to the game.
As its new roof nears completion, Wimbledon’s No 1 Court should be renamed “Court Sir Andy Murray”.
All the grand slams have at least one court named after their greatest champions. Denise Hilton

SIR – Though undoubtedly our greatest ever tennis player, Sir Andy’s most important legacy is as a sportsman.
He displayed sportsmanship at its best during his battle with another great sportsman, Juan Martín del Potro, in the men’s singles final at the 2016 Olympics. This quality has been a defining feature of his game.
